FORMS of ADDICTION

 

1 Corinthians 6:12

King James Version

12 All things are lawful unto me, 

but all things are not expedient: 

all things are lawful for me, 

but I will not be brought under the power of any.

As there are TONS of people in the world, so are the TONS of addictions.

Satan is a factory of addictions.

Addiction is enslavement.

SPIRIT led me to these primary ones.

Listen to what the LORD JESUS says of these:

Fame.

John 12:43

King James Version

43 For they loved the praise of men 

more than the praise of God.

Fortune.

Luke 16:13

King James Version

13 No servant can serve two masters: 

for either he will hate the one, 

and love the other; 

or else he will hold to the one, 

and despise the other. 

Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Flesh.

Matthew 26:41

King James Version

41 Watch and pray, 

that ye enter not into temptation: 

the spirit indeed is willing, 

but the flesh is weak.

The apostles give details about the nature of addiction:

Galatians 5:19-21

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, 

which are these; 

Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, 

emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, 

revellings, and such like: 

of the which I tell you before, 

as I have also told you in time past, 

that they which do such things 

shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

1 John 2:16

16 For all that is in the world, 

the lust of the flesh, 

and the lust of the eyes, 

and the pride of life, 

is not of the Father, 

but is of the world.

James 1:12-15

King James Version

12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: 

for when he is tried, 

he shall receive the crown of life, 

which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

13 Let no man say when he is tempted, 

I am tempted of God: 

for God cannot be tempted with evil, 

neither tempteth he any man:

14 But every man is tempted, 

when he is drawn away of his own lust, 

and enticed.

15 Then when lust hath conceived, 

it bringeth forth sin: 

and sin, 

when it is finished, 

bringeth forth death.

Fortune is also referred to as fortune-telling:

Leviticus 19:31

31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, 

neither seek after wizards, 

to be defiled by them: 

I am the Lord your God.

The LORD JESUS was so very accurate.

The spirit is "willing", but the flesh is "weak".

Only THROUGH JESUS, can we conquer addictions.

JESUS is the WAY to freedom.

From ANYTHING, and EVERYTHING, that enslaves you.

John 8:36

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, 

ye shall be free indeed.
